Selangor | Petaling Jaya | Amcorp Mall

Amcorp Mall, situated in Petaling Jaya, Selangor and can be seen on your left hand side if you are driving on Federal Highway towards Shah Alam from Kuala Lumpur. If you are travelling by the Kelana Jaya line LRT, you can get off at the Taman Jaya LRT Station which is just about 150 meters away.

Here, you will see lots of regular flea markets almost every day as you reach the main entrance and there will be more booths inside at the hall area. If you are lucky, you might be able to see some fashion show too.

If you come here on Saturday or Sunday, you will be able to see a special flea market inside the mall. This flea market is only during weekends and only open from 10am until 6pm.

The main area is at the lower ground. Just enter from the main entrance, turn right and then take the escalator down to LG.

As you reached the lower ground, you'll start to see most of them are selling antique items which are rare and hard to find nowadays.

Some of these items aged more than a thousand years old and they are selling it with a very low price.

When you go in further, you'll see some other things being sold in here. Old music disk records, house items, gem stones and many more.
When I was wondering around, I got to know some of these sellers and one of them is Uncle Raj who sells gem stones as men's and women's accessories which he made himself.

He was happily to explain some technical parts of how to make them and why certain parts are needed in the makings.

After I had some chat with him, I went on wondering around further in and see some other tables and they were happy to let me snap photos of their items.

I stopped at another table and had a chat with Mr. Eric, former journalist for Karangkraf group and an antique items collector.

Like other sellers here, he is very friendly and he shared quite a lot of his knowledge about his collections, their age and history behind them. Some of the items aged between 1,300 to 3,500 years old. Most of his collections came from China and some are locals.

He also showed a ceramic bowl that has invisible painting which only will be visible when you see it in front of a light source.

Moved on towards the back and you'll see more items that may catch your attention.

Excited with all the items here, I later realised that I have spent more than three hours wondering around this area. I'm pretty sure some may spend time longer than that.

I left this place with some knowledge in history, some experience and made some new friends. Wish they all are well and have happy life always.
